Long before Pastors Wives of America had a name, there was a table.

For more than three decades, Libia Duran has served alongside her husband in pastoral ministry, working with churches, leaders, and families across the United States. As a pastor’s wife herself, she came to understand something that would eventually shape the vision of PWOA: women in ministry carry an extraordinary influence—not only within the church, but within their homes, their families, and the generations that follow them.

In 2006, Libia began gathering pastors’ wives around a table for what became the Pastors’ Wives Breakfasts. The purpose was simple: to create a place where women who spent so much of their lives serving others could sit together, speak openly, build meaningful relationships, learn from one another, pray, and be strengthened.

Those gatherings planted a seed.

Over the years, the vision matured. What began around a table became a growing conviction that strengthening the woman also strengthens the family—and that strong families help form strong generations.

In 2017, that vision was formally established as Pastors Wives of America.

Today, PWOA reaches women across 21 states, bringing pastors’ wives together through prayer, fellowship, leadership development, education, and opportunities to serve. The table has grown, but its purpose remains deeply personal: women strengthening women so they can lead with wisdom, build healthy families, and intentionally invest in those coming behind them.

We believe the influence of a pastor’s wife reaches far beyond a title or position. What she builds in her home, what she models through her life, and what she deposits into others can continue long after her own season of leadership has ended.

That is the legacy we are building together.
